Plan your trip

Parklife is not a camping festival, so everyone leaves at 23:00 and you need a bed in Manchester. Heaton Park is 5 miles from the city centre, with shuttles, Metrolink and coaches running on the day.

  • The Parklife Shuttle leaves Minshull Street M1 3EF, takes about 30 minutes, and queues can reach 45 minutes between 13:00 and 15:00.
  • Metrolink runs every six minutes from Victoria to Heaton Park. Heaton Park stop closes from 21:00 on the way back, so use Bowker Vale.
  • There is no on-street parking around the site, and cars left on the street are towed and impounded.
All details (10)

  • The Parklife Travel Pass (Bee Network app) covers all buses and trams in Greater Manchester including the direct shuttle bus. It costs £8 for Saturday or Sunday, or £14.95 for the weekend.[18]
  • The Parklife Shuttle departs from Minshull Street M1 3EF and takes around 30 minutes, dropping off outside the festival. Saturday first bus 10:30, Sunday 11:30; last bus both days 16:30; buses leave at least every 10 minutes or when full. Queues of up to 45 minutes are expected between 13:00 and 15:00.[18]
  • The return shuttle leaves from outside the Woodthorpe pub (exit West Gate and follow signage to the bus station) to Manchester City Centre from 18:30 until the site is clear, dropping at Shudehill Interchange.[18]
  • Trams (Metrolink) run every six minutes from Victoria to Heaton Park during the day; use Heaton Park stop for entry, close to the West Gate. Heaton Park Metrolink stations close from 21:00 on the return journey; use Bowker Vale, near the East Gate exit.[18]
  • Official car parking at Heaton Park is booked via the official app: Sheepfoot Lane, Manchester M25 0BP (What Three Words ///caged.from.pad). There is no on-street parking around the site; cars on street are towed and impounded. No cars may park overnight in the car parks.[18]
  • The area around the park is closed to public traffic; Sainsbury’s is no longer used as the pick-up and drop-off point. Organise pick-ups at least 1km from the park. Roads are busiest 10:30–16:30 and 10:30–00:30 after the event.[18]
  • Taxi ranks: a Manchester Hackney Carriage Taxi Rank on Blackley New Road and a Bury Hackney Carriage Taxi Rank outside the Woodthorpe pub on Bury Old Road. Unlicensed taxis are unregulated and could be unsafe.[18]
  • Heaton Park is around a one hour walk from Manchester City Centre via Bury Old Road; the quickest route leaves through the East Gate and turns RIGHT. A bike rack is provided in the car park.[18]
  • Public entry and exit gates are West Gate (Bury Old Road) and East Gate (Sheepfoot Lane); VIP can use both. Accessibility, guests and staff use Bridge Gate. Heaton Park is 5 miles north of Manchester city centre, on the Bury Metrolink line and adjacent to the M60.[17]
