Dominator is the festival hardcore built for itself. Started in 2005 by Art of Dance and Q-dance, it has grown into the largest outdoor hardcore gathering anywhere, pulling more than 50,000 people to the Netherlands every July. Since 2009 it has run on the water at the E3 Strand in Eersel, a lakeside site near Eindhoven where roughly ten stages spread across and around the water. Where other big Dutch events lean on hardstyle main stages, Dominator stays locked on hardcore and its branches: mainstream and industrial, uptempo, frenchcore, and early hardcore, with stages curated by names like Masters of Hardcore and Thunderdome. Each year carries a single dark theme and a custom anthem, and Angerfist has written more of those anthems than anyone. The 2013 'Carnival of Doom' edition still holds the highest visitor ratings, and its aftermovie passed 21 million views. Camping arrived in 2022, turning the one-day party into a full weekend, and a Friday endshow followed in 2024. The 2026 edition lands on July 17 and 18 under the theme 'Fatal Fortune', a casino rising from a ruined city, with more than 200 artists across the lineup.

Livestream history

Dominator has run two full editions as online broadcasts, both during the pandemic. The 2020 'We Will Prevail' event aired on the Q-dance Network on July 18, 2020. In 2021 the broadcast returned on July 17, free for existing festival ticket holders and Q-dance DEDIQATED members, with pay-per-view access sold to everyone else through a dedicated live.dominatorfestival.nl site. Individual sets from both years were later posted on the official Dominator YouTube channel, which also hosts aftermovies and recorded performances. The standard on-site editions, including 2026, are not announced as livestreamed events.

04

Since 2009 it has run on the water at the E3 Strand in Eersel, where stage designs are staged across and around a lake.
